IT and Operations Director, Fleet-Scale IoT Infrastructure @ D3S

EngagementJanuary 2011 - June 2015
ContextD3S
  • Led IT, infrastructure, and operations for a large-scale vehicle tracking platform supporting more than 15,000 monitored vehicles, including approximately 3,000 vehicles from the police fleet of the State of Mato Grosso.

  • Worked across IoT tracking devices, telemetry ingestion, server infrastructure, databases, network architecture, field operations, and service delivery to keep critical fleet monitoring systems operational under real-world constraints.

  • Integrated, adapted, and reverse-engineered locked-down tracking devices and heterogeneous equipment, dealing with proprietary behavior, limited documentation, communication constraints, and inconsistent device-side assumptions.

  • Tuned servers, databases, and network environments to support continuous telemetry workloads, intermittent connectivity, high-volume device communication, and operational responsiveness across a distributed fleet.

  • Led technical teams, incident response, infrastructure planning, and service delivery for systems where reliability, observability, and data availability had direct consequences for fleet visibility and public safety operations.

  • This work became one of the foundations of my later focus on IIoT security, distributed infrastructure, critical systems engineering, operational resilience, and adversarial failure modeling.
